A Christina is a surface piercing located on a woman’s pubic mound. Initial piercing is usually performed with a surface bar with a gem, decorative bead on both ends, or an L-shaped barbell that can have a gem or decorative bead on the top.

Christina piercings are offered only from Keith and Dee and generally require a consultation prior to having the procedure done. This area differs so much from client to client that an anatomy check is done first to determine if it would be a viable piercing for you and which type of jewelry would work best. As a surface piercing in a high traffic area, these piercings can have a tendency to migrate. Downsizing at some point in the healing is generally required. The time frame for this can vary, talk to your piercer about it in more detail during your appointment. Rejection of the jewelry can also be a concern and should be discussed with your piercer during consultation.

This piercing is performed like many others: the area is cleaned and marked, clamped and pierced. Consideration should be taken in keeping the area free from excessive irritation by wearing clothing that will allow the piercing to “breathe” for the first initial few weeks.
