The Daith piercing is definitely one of the most popular ear piercings in the industry right now, taking piercers in a direction we have never seen before. As some of you might know, this piercing has recently become known, as the “migraine piercing”. If you would like more information on this please see our migraine piercing page.
It is generally perceived that the Daith is the most painful of all the ear piercings due to the deep placement in the ear and the thickness of the cartilage. In fact, like most piercings, the procedure is incredibly fast. Once the needle has been positioned and the receiving tube is in place, a few deep breaths and it’s over. Calm deep breaths are really the best way to have an almost painless piercing experience!
The absolutely gorgeous ring options for this piercing can make it the focal point of any client’s curated ear. Although, due to the detail and design of some of these pieces we would not use them for an initial piercing. Traditionally pierced with a captive bead ring and upgraded to something more elaborate once the area has had time to heal is generally what we would suggest for a client interested in wearing a showstopping piece.
