A scrotum piercing, or Hafada, gives the piercee many options for placement. The entire area is essentially “pierceable”. Most clients will want the piercing to sit front and center, generally starting at the base of the penis and working downward when doing multiples. Other clients will opt for matching scrotum piercings on either side.

This tissue has a tendency to be a little denser, making the piercing a bit more of a “pinch” and resulting in a longer healing time. Generally, about 4-6 months. This tissue also moves very freely and reacts to different temperature changes so marking can sometimes be tricky, especially when performing more than one or matching them. Be patient as this will take up the majority of the appointment.

Usually pierced and healed with at least a 10-gauge captive bead ring. Alternate jewelry options, starting at a larger gauge, or stretching can be discussed with your piercer upon arriving at your appointment. The piercing procedure itself is generally quick and easy, the clamp sometimes being the most uncomfortable part. 

Like all genital piercings, the area is vascular and pierced at a larger gauge. Some bleeding can be expected. This can be easily cleaned away with some warm water, patting the area dry afterward with single-use disposable paper towels. Do not be surprised if bleeding lasts for a few days as this is normal. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with your piercer or the studio should you have any concerns!
