Faux-Rook Piercing

This piercing is an option for those who don’t have large enough anatomy to have their actual rook pierced. It is performed with a flat back labret. Essentially, it is placed where the top of a curved barbell would sit in a traditional rook, however the jewelry goes straight through the tissue to the back of the ear.

Clients who wear glasses daily should consider the added irritation that the arms of their glasses could cause with this piercing. Once the labret has been downsized you might not find that this is as much of an issue, but it is something to be aware of as it can cause problems during the healing process.
