Tragus Piercing

Located on the little piece of cartilage that protrudes out from the side of your face beside your ear canal, the tragus has always been one of the more popular ear piercings. Traditionally performed with a captive bead ring, now the industry standard for initial healing tends to be a flat back labret stud.

Only the size of your tragus and your personal style will determine how flashy you can go with jewelry in this area. Tragus’ come in all different shapes and sizes, so a quick consult with your piercer will help you determine what will be most ideal for your anatomy.

This feels like most cartilage piercings, nothing more than a quick pinch, and generally heals in roughly 3-4 months.  Utilizing a travel pillow to avoid sleeping directly on the area can help with the added irritation from this.

Please keep in mind, clients who often wear headsets, earbuds or stethoscopes might have issues healing a tragus piercing. Consider your personal lifestyle when deciding to have anybody’s modification performed.
