Transverse Lobe Piercing

This piercing is a barbell that runs horizontally within the earlobe rather than the traditional placement of front to back. A fairly uncommon piercing, it can only be done on people with specific anatomy. If your earlobes are attached, it might not be a viable one for you. Most piercers will perform a transverse lobe freehand, but some may choose to clamp for more control over the tissue. Going to an extremely experienced piercer for a transverse lobe is critical; this is an advanced piercing that can be tricky to execute.

Traditionally done with a 14 gauge straight or curved barbell. The length of the barbell will be determined by your anatomy and may have to be custom ordered so a consultation for this is required. If you’re looking to stand out from the crowd, a transverse lobe piercing is definitely one that will get you some attention!

Although this seems like a piercing that would be painful to have done, the lobe is essentially just fleshy tissue–making this piercing not nearly as painful as it looks. The healing time for this piercing is roughly 3-4months and is the same as a regular earlobe piercing. For more information please visit our Aftercare page.

We pride ourselves in our advanced transparent sterilization techniques and aseptic piercing procedures.

Here at Tribal Expression, we implement the highest possible sterilization standards in Canada, the same standards you would see at a plastic surgeon’s office. We feel this is only right as any invasive procedure can be life-threatening if proper sterilization protocols are not met.

Please keep in mind: With covid-19, you will be require to wear a mask.

We ask that friends and family wait at a nearby coffee shop or in their car during the procedure. Please eat a light snack 30 minutes before your appointment.
