Industrial Piercing

This is a barbell that runs from one piercing, located in the upper part of the helix near your head, to another helix piercing located on the outside edge of the ear.

Whether or not this piercing is viable for someone is determined strictly on anatomy. Upon arrival for your appointment, your piercer will take a look and decide if your ear is suitable.

Please keep in mind these piercings can be difficult to heal as you are healing 2 piercings connected by one piece of jewelry. Performing this on a client whose ear anatomy is less than ideal usually spells trouble. This can definitely take time and patience to heal. But, for those who have an ideal ear, this piercing can be fun and versatile. For clients whose ear anatomy is not suited for a traditional industrial, a floating industrial could be another option; please talk to your piercer if you have questions regarding this.

Keep in mind the more irritation this piercing sees, the harder it will be to heal. For those of you who wear glasses and masks daily, this might not be the most ideal piercing for you. Initial jewelry for an industrial will always be a little longer to accommodate for swelling, but sometimes this piercing can heal to fill out the extra length. If a few months after the piercing was done, you’re finding that the swelling has subsided and the extra length is now causing more irritation, book an appointment for a downsize with the studio.

We ask that friends and family wait at a nearby coffee shop or in their car during the procedure. Please eat a light snack 30 minutes before your appointment.
